Panzer VI Tiger I No. 131
An exceptional model of a highly recognizable tank that remains in running condition to this day: the PzKpfw VI Tiger No. 131. This famous Tiger was captured by the British in Africa during World War II and is currently the star attraction at The Tank Museum!
This brick-built Tiger 131 has been recreated with meticulous attention to detail in the highly popular 1:35 scale! Notably, this marks the first time COBI has released the legendary Tiger in this size! The model features moving parts such as the turret and gun barrel, as well as rotating wheels and tracks. This refined set consists of 898 elements and faithfully captures the shape of the historical original. Our powerful tank model features high-quality, durable prints. The color scheme, closely matching the original, is particularly noteworthy and gives the model a stunning appearance! The set includes a mini-model of the Maybach engine, which can be displayed alongside the tank or placed inside under the service hatch. The model features moving wheels and tracks made up of multiple individual links; you can drive the tank and watch the tracks in motion! The hatches open to reveal space for standard COBI figures. The included figure depicts a tank commander in tropical uniform. The set is completed by a white plaque featuring the tank's name and The Tank Museum logo! Build history, brick by brick, and complete your collection!
The Panzerkampfwagen VI, or Tiger, was a German heavy tank from World War II. Its distinctive silhouette remains recognizable worldwide to this day. The vehicle itself has become legendary, maintaining a constant presence not only in historical records but also in pop culture. The first Tiger units reached the front lines near Leningrad and in Tunisia during August and September of 1942. Designed and manufactured by Henschel, the tank was highly advanced and effective. Unfortunately, its production consumed vast amounts of valuable raw materials and time. Tiger I tanks--and the few Tiger IIs--significantly influenced the course of the war. Infamous and terrifying, Tigers destroyed over 10,300 Allied tanks and 11,380 artillery pieces, while suffering losses of 1,725 units.
